Bruce Lee, the martial arts superstar, made an immense contribution to the sport and cinema in his short lifespan. His untimely passing in 1973 left a void that is still a topic of deep regret and sympathy. The 32-year-old martial arts sensation was married with a daughter and a son. Following his death, Linda Lee Cadwell, his wife, didn’t allow the kids to be overshadowed by the popularity of Lee for a very thoughtful reason.

And it was even pronounced during his death. Realizing that it shouldn’t get into their kids’ heads, Linda recommended the kids that they, “Don’t go around people telling you’re Bruce Lee’s kid.”

Bruce Lee and Linda initially shared a master-student relationship before love blossomed between them. In the book, Bruce Lee: A Life by Matthew Polly, a brief account of Linda’s parenting style found mention. She advised her kids to steer clear of their father’s popularity. “Let people get to know you for who you are first,” she stated. While Shannon, Lee’s daughter, discovered her passion for music and pursued a major in the same field, Brandon, Lee’s son, followed in his father’s footsteps.

“Brandon was very much his father’s son,” the book revealed. He was unafraid and adventurous. He found his love for acting at the age of eight and eventually, became an actor playing lead roles in action movies. Sadly, he saw a tragic fate by being accidentally shot by a dummy gun on the sets of ‘The Crow.’

Linda married twice, following Lee’s demise. Nevertheless, she continues her effort to propagate the teachings and wisdom imparted by Lee, which continue to make an impact on people. Shannon, eventually ventured into movies like her father and brother. She also oversees the affairs of the Lee family estate.

Furthermore, Linda Lee, Shannon, and her husband manage the Bruce Lee Foundation, a nonprofit organization contributing immensely to imparting Bruce Lee’s teachings and philosophy. Lee’s legacy continues to be carried forward not just by his children, but by everyone whose life he touched.
