Jada Pinkett Smith has been in the news lately. The general consensus is that it is not for the right reasons. She revealed that she and her husband Will Smith were separated for seven years, though not legally, in her memoir. That posed more questions than it answered. For Stephen A. Smith, the whole episode looks like an attempt to make more money off the Oscar winner. Simultaneously, Jada Pinkett Smith appears to be intent on reducing him to rubble.

Stephen A. Smith noted that was the reason the couple are still married. He stated it was not out of any respect for their wedding vows. According to A. Smith, Jada appears to want to change the public’s perception of her spouse. After the infamous Chris Rock slap incident, Will Smith is no longer the apple of Hollywood’s eye. On his eponymous show, Stephen A. Smith noted that given time, Will Smith will be forgiven for his error as it was a “one-time incident.” Jada, on the other hand, he suggested, will not be.

Jada threw away all the good for a quick buck

Stephen A. Smith pointed to the talk show Red Table Talk. He referred to all the good Jada had done via that show. As Steven A. put it, “I’ve watched Red Table Talk on many occasions. For years, you’ve empowered women. You’ve inspired women. You’ve talked about deep subjects that were a contributing force to women, that helped make them better and make us better as men. Because it gave us a greater understanding of what you women go through.” He added that was a thing of the past.

At that moment, Smith put forward that it looked as though Jada wished to destroy her husband completely. She, he continued, had effectively destroyed all the good she had done. Stephen A. Smith said, “You’re throwing all of that away because all we see now is a woman who seems h**l-bent on sabotaging, excoriating, and emasculating her man. While she’s making money off of it.” He argued Jada had thrown away everything just to make a quick buck.

Stephen A. Smith posited, that every time Jada got up to her tricks, another man lost faith in marriage. He posed the question of why any man would consider getting married if one day his wife would turn on him thus. Smith believes it is high time Jada put a stop to her antics.

Stephen A. Smith added Jada might not be as marketable without her current last name. At least that, he opined, is how the rest of the world would see things. Smith also noted she is in no position to “get mad at perceptions,” given how she influenced the perception of her husband. It remains to be seen how this saga ends.
