The United States team won the FIBA u23 World Cup 2023 in Lublin Poland. In the five-day event, the star-studded team showed their grit and defeated every opponent team. They achieved their World Cup glory defeating Israel in the one-sided final game. By the end of the game, the final score was 21-3. And leading the scorecard was none other than former Nebraska Cornhuskers player Trey McGowens III.

It runs in the family
Trey comes from an all-basketball family with his parents Bobby McGowens and Pamela McGowens being high school basketball players and his brother Bryce and sister Raina both being basketball players. The love for the game and the passion runs in the family for McGowens.
His brother Bryce was drafted the same season he got undrafted. To recover from a broken bone and the disappointment of being undrafted, Trey has put in the time and work to prove the champion mindset.
All the hard work and hours paid up with the u23 World Cup where Trey became the MVP by scoring a whopping 54 points in seven games. From not getting drafted to becoming the MVP, Trey McGowens III has proven his talent. As he returns home with the World Cup, all eyes will be on him.
