Not that long ago, pictures of Taylor Swift walking hand-in-hand with Brittany Mahomes emerged. The budding friendship between the pair gladdened the hearts of all Swifties. After all, Brittany’s husband, Patrick Mahomes, and Swift’s love interest, Travis Kelce, play together for the Kansas City Chiefs. All appeared well in paradise until Mahomes associated herself with Kim Kardashian’s Skims campaign. That drew the ire of Swifties worldwide, including Dave Portnoy. They followed that with additional dirt on Mahomes.

Dave Portnoy has drawn up arms on multiple occasions. He goes to war for a whole host of things, including the New England Patriots, his alma mater, and Taylor Swift. The expectation was that Portnoy would do so once more, given recent events. However, he declined that invitation. Portnoy refused to be swayed.

Much less of an ’emergency’ than Swifties expected

Dave Portnoy took to Instagram to share a story, confirming his stance on the matter. He referenced the tweets Mahomes had written in 2013, where she expressed distaste for Taylor Swift. Portnoy said, “… I’m not riled up. It could be because I can’t even open my eyes yet. But this, if the Skims Kim Kardashian thing is an 11 on the like, fire alarm, we’re jumping out windows and running on the streets with baseball bats, Brittany Mahomes tweeting in 2013 like, I don’t like Taylor Swift winning all the awards, that’s a .001. I’m just not riled up.”

Dave Portnoy made clear his feelings about the Kardashian clan. He labeled them snakes and rats who deserve to be behind bars. Simultaneously, he acknowledged they could worm their way out of a jail sentence in their own inimitable fashion. Regardless, he maintained the decade-old tweets from Brittany Mahomes that did not say anything malicious registered not on his radar.

Not as bad as the Taylor Swift-Kanye West feud

The feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift will not be news to anyone. Kim Kardashian took her then-husband’s side during that long and drawn-out saga. That resulted in her being on the receiving end of the Swifties’ fury. Just associating with her brand has now put Brittany Mahomes into hot water with the same crowd.

Brittany Mahomes’ tweets throwing shade at Taylor Swift were a decade old. Given nothing malicious was said in said tweets, Dave Portnoy opted to overlook those ‘transgressions.’ He essentially said it was not something to bother with. Portnoy refused, flat-out and perhaps under the influence of sleep, to make a mountain out of that molehill. It remains to be seen how his decision is received by the rest of the Swifties.
