“Playing Everybody Like a Violin,” Stephen A. Smith Lauds Taylor Swift as a “Marketing Genius,” Comparing Her Visibility to That of a Divine Presence

The United States of America is known for many things. But in the world of the music industry, the name Taylor Swift has been shining like a star. With her amazing vocals, sparkly outfits, and a loving fan base, Swift has shaken the US economy in 2023. Following the Eras Tour, Swift is rumored to have forecasted gross ticket sales of $2.2 billion in North America alone. “Swiftonomics” as it is now called, has caused a stir in something else as well these days.

The developing saga between NFL player Travis Kelce and music sensation Taylor Swift started with one bracelet. But now the whole NFL industry is on its toes. Someone has a lot to say about it. That would be none other than the famous American TV host, Stephen A. Smith. Taking to his podcast, Smith has quite some inputs to share about Taylor Swift and her presence at the stadium.

If Taylor Swift was seen at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 2, Stephen A. Smith has a podcast ready to discuss the event. On “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” the host was quite complimentary of Taylor Swift. The show, which premiers three times a week, highlighted Swift’s presence at the NFL match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.

Admitting to the singer’s influence, Smith said, “She’s proven to be along the way, not just an incredible performer, musician, artist, but she’s also a marketing genius. I mean, when we’re gonna stop acting like we don’t know what this is all about? Taylor Swift is playing everybody like a violin.” Smith also corrected himself by saying, “I’m not saying that disrespectfully, I’m not saying that to malign her, I’m saying that because damn it, I’m jealous, I am jealous of Taylor Swift!”

But that was not all. Appreciating her talent and creativity, Smith compared the 33-year-old singer to a divine presence. “Now she is appearing in NFL games, damn it! She is seen everywhere. There are two people that see it everywhere you go: Taylor Swift and Jesus Christ. That’s about it. I mean, talk about being omnipotent. That is her.” But this is not the only time Smith has shared his input about Swift’s presence at the NFL match.

The match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets was not just limited to the ground. In the stadium, many couldn’t keep their eyes off Taylor Swift and her friends.

As Swift was all praises for the NFL player, Travis Kelce, Smith had more to add. Regarding Swift’s presence, Smith said, “hugging mama and stuff, hanging out, cheering on Travis Kelce as hard as she’s been doing, bringing Ryan Reynolds with her, along with other others.” Hinting at the duo, Smith said, “I’m just saying it don’t look casual.” Adding more, he said, “It’s their business. I’m just letting you know it don’t look casual.”

Casual or not, one thing is clear: Taylor Swift’s presence at the stadium is loved by all. Smith, more so than ever. As is his role, Smith sure does like to entertain fans from all the sports genres.
