Dave Portnoy lauds coach Harbaugh for putting the team first

In the wake of Jim Harbaugh?s suspension, Dave Portnoy values the Michigan coach’s decision as an exemplary embodiment of a true American hero. Coach Harbaugh has accepted the sanction, prioritizing the student-athletes and their on-field performance. With the agreement in place, Big Ten has dropped the investigation, leaving it to the NCAA. Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, took to X to vouch his undying support for coach Harbaugh. “Jim Harbaugh has done something that honestly they will be teaching for decades, centuries, millennials, and Americans about what it means to be a Michigan man. What it means to be an American. To put it, there is no I in the team,” Portnoy said. Calling Big Ten Commissioner Tony Pettiti a coward over his decision against Harbaugh, he added that they decided to suspend the coach without an iota of proof.

“All this stuff. Jim could have fought it. Coach Harbaugh, he could have fought this forever. But he said I’m going to put the focus on these kids, on the university, with Ohio around the corner,” Portnoy quoted Harbaugh in his video. Thus, putting his future at stake for the sake of the students, Harbaugh decided to remove himself from the given equation between Michigan and Big Ten, as per Portnoy. He does, however, have a very important role to play, to preserve the sanctity of his team as well as maintain the existing camaraderie.
