Jonathan Owens recently appeared on the inaugural edition of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay, where Simone Biles’ beau talked about his life and journey to fame. Interviewed by the young host, Owens showed his candid side as he revealed a lot of previously unknown facts about the things that led him to find his home with the Green Bay Packers. In the interview, Jonathan shocked his fans after claiming that his initial plans didn’t involve football, and instead, he had eyes on building a career around basketball.

“I wasn’t a big football fan…I used to play basketball at recess“, revealed Owens to his young interviewee. The exasperated facial expression of the host mirrors the emotions of Owens’ fans who can have a hard time conceiving the idea that their favorite linebacker could have gone to the NBA instead. While Owens spent his childhood days and school time on the hoops with his buddies, one small matter changed his destiny forever.

“…I felt like I wasn’t tall enough to go to the NBA“, confessed Jonathan, and that made him focus more on football as a necessary second option. Owens also revealed that he spent a lot of time on the tracks for the sole purpose of staying fit, and it was this training that helped him make a living in football. Outside of the field, what keeps him and Biles tethered to one another, though?

With the couple recently spending some quality vacation time, it was only natural that a lot of retrospective conversations took over the power couple’s lives for the past few days. Only yesterday, Biles took to social media to highlight to her fans that her stay in Hawaii is likely to get extended and her followers couldn’t stop hyping her up for focusing on herself with the Olympics only five months away.
