The College Football Playoff (CFP) selection committee placed the Alabama Crimson Tide team as the No. 4 team in the final rankings of the four-team format edition. Florida State Seminoles secured the No. 5 ranking. Now, FSU will square off against the team No. 6 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. While Washington was given the No. 2 ranking and Texas got the No. 3 spot in the ranking order.
However, one of the most anticipated matches seems to be between the Michigan Wolverines football team and Alabama. It is slated to become all the more exciting as Dave Portnoy took to his Twitter to share his views on the Alabama challenge.

Dave Portnoy’s war cry on behalf of Michigan
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy recently posted a video on his Twitter handle. The video showcased the group of people gasping about the announcement of Alabama as the No. 4 team. Certain posts on social media have interpreted that it was because Michigan is apprehensive about facing Alabama. Portnoy captioned his post as ‘’ Funny people are spinning this like Michigan is scared. I speak for all of Michigan. I wanted Alabama. It’s unfair to FSU. That’s what that reaction was. We are MICHIGAN. You fear us not vice versa.’’

The top-ranking Michigan Wolverines football team will now pitch against the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide team in the semifinal matchups on New Year’s Day. The most anticipated and electrified match between Michigan versus Alabama and Washington vs. Texas will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Why did Alabama take the fourth spot beating FSU?
Giving the Alabama team a No. 4 ranking team was not an easy decision for the CFP team. But, due to a pitiful injury, Florida State Seminoles had to be excluded from the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately, Seminoles’s star quarterback Jordan Travis faced a serious leg injury on Nov. 18 during the game against North Alabama.

After the declaration of the rankings of the teams, on ESPN, CFP committee chair Boo Corrigan explained his decision to give FSU the No. 5 ranking. “without Jordan Travis, without the offensive dynamic that he brings to it, they are a different team. And the committee voted Alabama four and Florida State five.” He stated. With the announcement of the four teams, spectators are eagerly waiting to watch the most thrilling match-up between them in the Big Ten championship game.
