It was a few days before NFL Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys were set to take on the San Francisco 49ers. Stephen A. Smith, host of the show First Take, chipped in to offer his take on that fixture. He began with the premise that the 49ers would expose the Cowboys’ defensive line and singled out quarterback Dak Prescott. Smith admitted it would be a tantalizing match-up given the efficiency of the 49ers’ offense. Simultaneously, he put his money on the 49ers.

Stephen A. Smith went on to predict that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott would have his hands full. In fact, he added that Prescott would throw two interceptions, and one of them was going to happen at a crucial stage in the game. As it turned out, Prescott proved Smith right on Sunday.

Dak Prescott does a “Stephen A. Smith act”

Gleeful, Stephen A. Smith posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, after his prediction came true. Dak Prescott threw interception numero dos, rendering Smith cock-a-hoop, understandably. However, that would not be the end of it. Before he could finish making the video, dos turned into tres. Smith roared with laughter throughout the video. He used multiple sentences to convey the ‘I told you so’ sentiment to his viewers.

To use his exact words, Stephen A. Smith said, “I am making this video after it was proven that I was right that Dak Prescott was gonna throw two interceptions. And guess what? Before I had a chance to finish the video, it was three. You know, I mean – I don’t even know what to say right now. I don’t even know what to say. I told y’all. I warned you. Stephen A. warned you. Stevie A. warned you … I tried to tell you. And one day you shall learn. You shall learn.” Alongside this prediction, Smith’s match prediction also went in the right direction.

On the popular ESPN show, First Take, prior to the match Smith warned the Cowboys fans their team would struggle against the 49ers. In his words, “Cowboys fans “are going to be miserable.” and “Cowboys fans will get ticked off.” All because, as Smith predicted, the Cowboys would have a torrid time for it against the 49ers. Proving his prediction right, the 49ers prevailed 42-10 over the Cowboys.

The win comes as a consecutive fifth win for the 49ers. A few months back, the 49ers had famously knocked the Cowboys out of contention for the Super Bowl, winning 19-12. It was the Cowboys’ seventh straight defeat in the divisional round while failing to make it to the NFC title game since winning their fifth Super Bowl title following the 1995 season.
