The New England Patriots, a team that ruled the NFL for the past two decades, faced a harsh reality check in their recent game against the Miami Dolphins. The team, led by Coach Bill Belichick, stumbled to a 17-31 defeat, marking a low point in their illustrious history. Finding it an opportune time, Dave Portnoy came first to school the Patriots.

Adding salt to the wound, Dave called out straight at the team for their loss against the Dolphins. His frustration came out after the cynical loss but he still binds hopes tight that the Patriots will bounce back. In his recent social media post, Dave points out that despite their past successes, the NFL team is now facing a period of rebuilding and reevaluation.

The frustration came out after the unexpected loss, as it was unskeptical seeing the Patriots’ great start to the match. The Barstool Sports’ founder and a well-known Patriots fan did not mince words in his assessment of the team’s performance. “With two decades of dominance and we stink,” he said, reflecting on the disappointment of the Patriots’ fanbase.

He was majorly targeting the New England Patriots head coach and general manager, Bill Belichick. “Belichick wasting the time out. Sometimes it’s like I don’t know. It’s just a team that’s not very good from top to bottom not very good. I still think back in this league, I think the pressure gets to him. And that’s not always his fault,” he added lashing out at the coach after the Miami Dolphins handed one of the most surprising NFL defeats.

The resulting defeat was nowhere seen at the beginning, as the Dolphins, on the other hand, played an exceptional game. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, and their defense managed to keep the Patriots at bay. As Miami’s second drive started, Tua Tagovailoa, their quarterback was sacked right away as he threw an interception on the next play. This initial wobble gave the Patriots a  7-0 lead.

Hitting back after the major blow, the Miami Dolphins showed no favor to any failure. Tagovailoa, who has never lost against Bill Belichick, leveraged a wide-open Waddle at the 15. Taking forward the winning pace, Jaylen Waddle easily ran into the end zone to seal Miami’s 31-17 win as there were no Patriots defenders around him.

His remarks are not just for the Patriots, but for all teams in the NFL. The Patriots’ loss against the Miami Dolphins is a reminder of this harsh reality. As the Patriots look to bounce back from this defeat, they will undoubtedly draw upon their rich history and winning culture.
