Who doesn’t love good family time? Athletes often take time off to bond with their families. It helps with their mental health while also providing some time to sit back and relax. Similarly, Ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky was seen spending quality time with his grandson once.

In the video from 2016, Gretzky was seen helping his grandson hold up hockey sticks. Since his family has roots in sports, it was natural for his grandfather to teach him the basics of hockey.

The adorable video, posted by Gretzky’s wife Janet Jones, showed the NHL legend trying to teach a shuffling move, while Tatum held onto two hockey sticks. Although he looked on curiously, the child ended up playfully snatching the ball from his grandfather. The video ended with Gretzky holding on to Tatum as he walked away.

Janet Jones posted the video with the caption, “Papa Wayne determined hockey is in him making sure he is a lover not a fighter 😂👶🏼”. Looks like the sport does run in the family after all!
