NHL can sometimes get violent, and there are no two ways about it. Besides the usual brawls that often break out in ice hockey, deadly collisions are also a major concern. Just recently, when the Boston Bruins took on the Buffalo Sabres, a similar instance broke out. During the second period of the game, the Bruins winger was down on the ice after slamming against the boards. He had just returned from one injury.

Fans have collectively wished for a soon recovery of Brad Marchand

The game was underway with much fanfare at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. And both teams wasted no time in attacking. However, just as they were in an aggressive mood, defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin came out of nowhere and bumped into Marchand. Marchand went straight into the boards and down onto the ice. The injury he suffered there, looked severe and painful. And now, weighing in on the matter, fans have expressed their concern for him on the Facebook post by ‘Wheel House Hockey’.

Despite his injury, the Bruins went on to win the match by a 7-1 margin on their home turf. They were at the top of the charts at the beginning of the season, and continue to lead their position in the Atlantic Division. Marchand had to, unfortunately, leave the rink with a lower-body injury. His pugnacious attitude, which some fans often don’t like, didn’t let him leave his team aside.

An aggressive mindset might soon see Marchand return to the ice

While fans were generally concerned about Marchand, there were a few who were keen on blaming him for his injury. This has got to do with how Marchand usually plays. His aggressive mannerisms are mainly what people notice him for. However, they are also his strong area, and he plays accordingly. The Canadian winger also suffered an injury against the Edmonton Oilers a few days back in a similar fashion. It was their defenseman Darnell Nurse then, who crashed into him.

While there is no certainty as to when Marchand is making his comeback inside the ice rink, The Boston Bruins have certainly shown terrific bench strength in their games so far. Marchand’s return will only add to their success.
