The legendary Wayne Gretzky needs no introduction. His expertise in the NHL makes him one of the greatest athletes to ever exist. He played 20 seasons in the NHL and asserted his dominance from 1979 to 1999. 20 years of a significant career, Gretzky retired in 1999, but his records are still valid to date, and no one has come closer to them. He is not only an inspiration to the prior generation, but also to the new generation.

Wayne Gretzky discussed his daily routine, which he has followed since the beginning of his career, in an interview with Graham Bensinger in 2016. Such a prolonged routine is quite hard to see, as most athletes keep changing their routines. It was a unique talent that Gretzky had.

Wayne Gretzky tried to follow whatever his father used to tell him. This also included his dressing routine. His father was a great believer, and he was guided all the time by him.

“You know you can say it’s superstition you can say it’s routine how you get dressed and I got dressed the same way all the time,” Gretzky added, “I always got dressed on the right side of my right sock my right shin pad my right elbow pad my right skate just you know you can say it’s superstition but it’s partly routine also.”

Gretzky dressed the same way from the beginning of his career until the end. He had beliefs that turned into his routine.

Diet of the GOAT

Graham Bensinger was taken aback by Wayne Gretzky‘s unique diet. It was pretty unexpected for the greatest athlete of all time to have a diet like that.

Sometimes Gretzky would just consume four hot dogs before a game with a lot of onions and mustard, and that’s it. It was an unusual diet for an athlete, of course, which astonished Bensinger a lot. It was just a habit of Gretzky’s to consume foods like this before his game, and it had always been like that since his school days.
