Mercogliano on the New Ice City podcast, Sam Rosen shared insights regarding his retirement plans, mentioning, “I haven’t said anything in motion yet, but we’ve talked about different things. Ideas have been thrown out there. Members of my family want me to write a book. There’s been talk about maybe JD (John Davidson) and I collaborating on a podcast. I’ve talked to, we’ve had preliminary talks with a couple of colleges in Florida where my wife and I have a second home and I would imagine eventually I’m going to transition from New York to Florida.”

Similar to many individuals who conclude their lengthy careers, Rosen has a list of aspirations to pursue. He noted that his family has encouraged him to consider writing a book. Yet, what about his own plans? It seems he is considering launching a podcast featuring New York Rangers icon John Davidson. Additionally, Rosen intends to relocate from New York to Florida. This marks the beginning of a completely fresh chapter in Rosen’s life.

In addition, outlining his intentions, he remarked, “I can’t do it overnight, but I think eventually that will happen. There are a couple of schools where I might like to teach a course in broadcasting and communication, something along those lines. So those are ideas that are out there that we’re thinking about.”

He is prepared to embrace his retirement, yet he will maintain the same level of productivity he has always demonstrated. “No, can’t do that. Can’t do that. This has been, it’s the right time, Vince. And I don’t want to, yeah, no, I don’t want to make a quick comeback. Sorry, let’s do another tour next year. Though the accolades are very nice from everyone. But no, it’s the right time. I have my health. I still have a lot of energy. I want to stay active in whatever comes my way after the season ends. But it’s the right time,” Sam Rosen remarked when questioned about his retirement.

The sportscaster has fulfilled his role in his career. He has now recognized that the moment has come to bring the curtain down. Rosen acknowledges the strong emotions surrounding this decision, yet he felt compelled to act as he did.

In addition, reflecting on his impending retirement, he remarked, “As I said on Saturday, and I believe this thoroughly, and I’ve said it to my family, I want to go out with people remembering me at the top of my game and the top of my broadcast. And I believe I still bring that night after night. And that’s what I strive for. And I wanted to finish up that way because I want people to say, ‘Boy, right to the end,’ rather than, ‘Oh, it’s poor Sam. He’s lost it. He’s mispronouncing names. He’s misidentifying people.’ No, I want them to say, ‘Right to the end, he was doing a great job.’ And I have a lot of pride in my work. And I want that to go right to the end.”
