There are three things prized above all else by Dave Portnoy. They are his alma mater (the University of Michigan), his favorite NFL team (the New England Patriots), and Taylor Swift. For any one of those three, Portnoy would go to the ends of the Earth. He is nothing if not loyal down to the last cell in his body.
Dave Portnoy is a diehard Swiftie. That is no longer newsworthy, sadly, not to anyone in the general public who has come across his name. There might be no counting the number of times Portnoy rushed to Taylor Swift’s defense throughout his existence. Yes, he critiqued some of her choices, too. For instance, he was not the biggest fan of her beau, Travis Kelce. Even so, Portnoy has always supported the pop star.

Dave Portnoy and his top two artists
Dave Portnoy’s support is reflected once more, with a surprise twist. He took to Instagram to share his top two artists for the year, according to Spotify. To no one’s surprise, Taylor Swift is one of them. Unfortunately, she did not occupy the top spot. Portnoy added two infographics from Spotify side by side, featuring Swift and the late legendary singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. He added the following words above those images, “My 1, 2 artists should be a surprise to nobody this year.”

Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day, 1946. He passed away this year after a long, drawn-out battle with an aggressive type of skin cancer, Merkel cell carcinoma. Buffett breathed his last surrounded by friends, family, music, and dogs on September 1, as per his official website. He loved his dogs. His last video features never-before-seen footage starring his canines, according to People Magazine.

Jimmy Buffett’s last and final music video
In his final music video for the song “Like my dogs,” Jimmy Buffett described his ideal relationship, based on the unconditional love he got from his dogs. He invited fans to send in videos of their own canine friends with the hashtag #likemydog. A good number of them were also part of the video.

According to the infographic shared by Dave Portnoy, he listened to Jimmy Buffett the most during the month of his passing. Given Portnoy is a diehard Swiftie, that might well be the best tribute he could pay the legendary musician. Buffett’s artistry made him a folk hero. There is no doubt Portnoy, too, had a soft spot for his music. That is how he lives on, and long may that continue!
