As it commenced on 20th October 2023, the Pan American Games has been fortunate for the USA since the beginning. The United States has taken the early lead on the medal table, winning 10 medals, including 4 gold. And to add brownie points to the medal tally, the USA’s 3×3 women’s basketball team stood atop the podium clinching two consecutive wins.

On day 4 of the Pan American Games, the USA’s Women’s 3 by 3 basketball team emerged victorious, clinching 2 golds in the tournament against Chile, and Columbia. Interestingly, as the team bags the victory, the spotlight shines on Azura Stevens who made an incredible debut this year at the Pan Am games.

Azura’s Spectacular Debut

Azura Stevens, the LA Sparks’ astonishing player debut in team USA, has been a fortunate yet strategic move by the team. As the Women’s NBA star features a perfect blend of hard work and skills, she is also among the most anticipated players by spectators. Similarly, she showed her prowess on the court and made her team win the second consecutive win.

This year, USA’s basketball teams were defending their legacy of gold medals, which was started in 2019. USA’s 3 by 3 basketball teams made a Grand Entrance on the World basketball court at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. In addition to defending their world title, USA’s basketball team also featured Azura’s spectacular debut.

Azura Stevens dominated the tournament’s final match with an impressive score of 11 points. Although she started attempting for the shoots at 09:09, she also opened the scoreboard for the team USA. Eventually, she also featured a remarkable accuracy of 75% with 9 one-pointer shots in the same match.

Although Azura started scoring for Team USA, Burdick Cierra followed her steps, attempted the second shot, and made it count. Team Columbia locked horns with Team USA and gave them a tough competition. At 3:35 of the second half, the match took an unexpected move, and Team USA was only in the lead of 2 points. However, the team managed to keep up with the expectations of their spectators by maintaining the lead throughout the game.

Team USA, with Azura Stevens, Burdick Cierra, Dietrick Blake, and Hull Lexie, emerged victorious in the tournament. They not only stood a and stood atop the podium but also made a remarkable 21-14 score. Even though team Columbia gave fierce competition, they had to settle for a silver this year in the Pan American Games.
