On the same note, the USA’s Field Hockey team got trounced by their Canadian counterparts in a thrilling showdown. In a recent match, team USA narrowly missed the Bronze medal bout soon after a heartbreaking gold medal bid at the Pan American Games.

USA’s HeartBreaking Bronze Bout

This year, the 2023 Pan American Games were less fortunate for the USA’s Field Hockey team than other sports. Soon after losing a gold medal match, the team missed a podium finish at the tournament. In a bronze bout held yesterday, the USA’s field hockey team locked horns with Team Canada. Even though the USA’s team put in their best efforts to make it a win, they missed the bout by a mere point. The match was a roller coaster for the spectators, as in each quarter, there was a different score.

The first quarter was fortunate for team Canada as it took a lead of one point in the game. However, team USA made a comeback and secured the first half by 1-0. Soon after winning the first half, team USA fell short to Team Canada.

In the final quarter, both teams were equally passionate about securing a point, as the quarter was the decision maker. Even though both the teams made a point in this quarter, team Canada not only emerged victorious but also clinched a bronze medal in the tournament. But what about the Olympic Spot qualification?

Team USA Losing an Olympic Spot at 2023 Pan American Games 

As Team USA lost its bronze bout, it also lost its Olympic berth at the Pan American games. In addition to this, they also failed to secure a spot at the FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifier.

The remaining seats for the upcoming Olympics were to be assigned with high rankings in the FIH Olympic Qualifier events. This also means that the path to the 2024 Paris Olympics is quite unclear for USA’s field hockey team.
