Suni Lee has filled her golden purse with several laurels. But when the Hmong decent athlete was girding up for a remarkable Olympic gateway season, she faced a setback. The 20-year-old, who made fans swoon over her all-around gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, traveled back to elite gymnastics in 2023. But she opted out for non-gymnastics related issues, despite securing her name at the World Championships Selection event.

Earlier in 2023, the 20-year-old was diagnosed with a rare kidney issue. While she’s still trying to handle her health concerns, Lee keeps her fans updated. Recently, the Minneapolis native sought solace in her healing journey.

As per her Instagram story, the 20-year-old shared a photo of a book page, which had a three-lettered message. She recently said, We’re still working on trying to figure out how to balance all of it because I do have good days and bad days.” Lee was raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, where the 2024 Olympic trials would be held. So, the 2024 Paris Olympics will be one of the closest events in Lee’s career.
