“I’m Not Going to Back Down”: Lindsey Vonn Reacts to Horrible Comments Targeted at Her While She Was Competing Professionally

Lindsey Vonn is known in the media world for her unmatchable skills on snow and the unbreakable records she’s set in the world of competitive Alpine Skiing. As an all-time best in the world of skiing, Lindsey has bagged a total of 3 medals. But, what is it like for a super athlete like her on the internet? 


Sure, she has won many fans and set a history but contrary to one’s assumption life isn’t all roses for this Olympian. Much like any other mammoth figure in the world of sports and entertainment she, too has her haters. These critics are relentless in pulling her down and often leave snarky comments for her.

Back in 2018, just after winning her third medal at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Vonn had the perfect answer for all her haters and naysayers. In an interview, she said, “That’s what bullies want you to do: They want to defeat you. And I’m not defeated.” Well, that was a clear message indeed! But controversy isn’t new for this skiing legend. Back in 2010, after winning the gold medal, when she was asked if she’d be visiting the white house or not, she outright denied ever wishing to do so. Safe to say, people jumped on that and brutally trolled her. Yet, Vonn was unfazed and stuck to her point.

Again when she finished 6th on the first day of her event in the Winter Olympics 2018, people had a lot to say. The Twitter crowd had jumped in and mocked her. But, Vonn gave a very confident reply, showing her haters who’s the boss.

“There’s, of course, going to be people that hate me and hope I ski off a cliff and die. But that’s fine. I’m not going to do that.” This legend surely knows how to handle the pressure well.
