The 2023 world hockey championship, 2022 Grand Prix figure skating series, and 2022 chess olympiad. And other major events too, have been taken away from the Russia. Furthermore, the list of banned athletes is going up with each passing day.

The European crisis has resulted in an absolute nightmare for all the Russian athletes. With bans and major events being pulled out of the country, the future of Russian sports lies in darkness. Sharing his thoughts on the decision by the world sports fraternity, Putin said, “The canceled competitions need to be compensated with our own new formats. And we can get it done fast.”

Evgeny Rylov suspended for nine months

Putin also criticized the suspension of Russian swimming sensation Evgeny Rylov by FINA. The Russian president calls it “absurd.” Earlier, the international swimming body suspended the Olympic champion for nine months for attending a pro conflict rally in Russia. This means that Rylov will not be able to attend the world championship in Budapest this year.
