Sharing his thoughts on the decision by the world sports fraternity, Putin said, “The canceled competitions need to be compensated with our own new formats. And we can get it done fast.”

Putin also criticized the suspension of Russian swimming sensation Evgeny Rylov by FINA. The Russian president calls it “absurd.” Earlier, the international swimming body suspended the Olympic champion for nine months for attending a pro conflict rally in Russia. This means that Rylov will not be able to attend the world championship in Budapest this year.
