Ice Beard Surfers from Michigan, who are famous for having long beards and surfing in ice-cold waters, shared their views in an interview, and it’s really interesting! Surfer Dan gave insights into surfing activity through his views and opinions and it’s really fun to know many of the things that he shared!

These surfers are famous for surfing the ice-cold waters of Lake Superior during winter. The extreme cold temperatures lead to ice formation on the beards of these surfers, hence the name Ice Beard Surfers.

The temperatures there during the winter are in the extreme negative and surfing in those temperatures is not for everyone!

Ice Beard Surfers Surfer Dan opens up!

Surfer Dan in an interview since sharing his opinions. He said, “Do they know me or do they know of me?” Dan said this while opening up on his profession. He gave an insight into the entire community of Ice Beard Surfers.

His words mean a lot as he is the pioneer of the sport. Dan made the activity so famous and well-known around the world.

Diving deep into how it all started, he shared the beginnings. He said,  “I started surfing this spot with a wet suit.”  He shares that he later got more and more comfortable with the low temperatures of the water in the lake. Later on, he even removes the wet suit!

Surfer Dan shared how he started surfing in the massive Lake Superior. Lake Superior is located in Michigan and is so big that it borders the neighboring country of Canada on its other end! It is one of the many huge lakes located in the state of Michigan.

Dan owes his life to surfing!

Dan owes his life to surfing as he described how it was surfing that brought him back on the right track. He shared how he would either be dead or behind the bars if not for surfing. Da also quit drinking, all thanks to surfing.

It was interesting to get an insight into the life of these Ice Beard Surfers. Surfer Dan sharing it himself made it even more attractive. It would be interesting to get more such insights from him about Ice Beard Surfing.
