The NCAA swimming championships boast many more attractions this year. If the upcoming Olympics has built an air of anticipation, then the swimmers’ recent performances have contributed to the frenzy. A few days ago, in the ACC championship, UVA standout Gretchen Walsh heightened the excitement by registering the fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly event. Her elder sister, Alex Walsh, tagged on in the 200-yard butterfly with an NCAA record in the same title. Both these contests were held before a packed house. The high school competitions were not the exception.

The University of Texas is hosting the NCAA-level swimming competitions for the class-based early participants. Attendance in the competition has been high, with several historical colleges meeting in the US.

The lack of big names could not derail NCAA swimming fans from coming in droves

The Friday night in Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center featured the prelims of the swimming and diving meet. In trying their prowess in water sports, the participants from 5A and 6A gathered in high numbers in the arena. However, to watch their performance and motivate them, the NCAA swimming fans didn’t disappoint. Their staggering presence impressed Kyle Sockwell, the Swimming Twitter CEO, highly. The satisfied delegate took to Instagram to comment on the event: “Best high school swimming crowd in the country?”

However, for a seasonal watcher of NCAA swimming, the question evoked an unusual huff puff in the comment box. Moreover, Kyle Sockwell’s disbelief felt justified as the Friday huddles were for the prelim episodes only. So, the NCAA swimming fans soon crowded the comment box, trying hard to quench Sockwell’s curiosity.

The Ohio and Illinois come with their nominations

To justify Kyle Sockwell’s dubiety, the fan trevonnec boasted, “Everything is different in Texas when it comes to hs sports.” But being an Illi competitor, Olivia Smoliga couldn’t digest the mentioned boasting. The former world champion argued, “Best high school swimming crowd is Illinois but no shade to Texas.” That brought the OSU fans into the scene to show their uniqueness.

The fan aborgman15 claimed the Buckeyes’ distinction by writing, “Finals at Canton Ohio is like no other.” But for many others, the final day in the ongoing NCAA swimming (Saturday) in Texas might be far more riveting. The fan, adam_speedie26, commented, “Can’t wait to watch tomorrow!” But eventually, high school swimming found its long-lost glory with such a full house presence. Resonating that, the IG handle, bettinamccarthy, posted, “I just love that swimming is getting more and more of the recognition it deserves!”
