The post-Olympic life for Nathan Chen is full of fun and interesting conversations every day. With all the media swooning over the champion for interviews, he is currently the top sports celebrity in America and why not, winning a gold medal at the Olympics is not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s a very special thing for any athlete in the world.

The 22-year-old American figure skater won his first Olympic gold in the men’s figure skating short program at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. In the competition, he defeated some of the top figure skaters of the world, including the Japanese legend Yuzuru Hanyu. It was the first Olympic gold medal for Team USA in figure skating since 2010 and now the champion Nathan Chen is enjoying the perks of winning it.

Will Arnett advises Nathan Chen to use his gold medal for paying bills

In an interview with James Corden, Nathan Chen received unusual advice from the Canadian actor and comedian, Will Arnett. He suggested, “like if you are with your friends in a restaurant and they say like hey we have to pay the bill. Then you just pull out your medal.” The host James Corden also seconded the idea by saying,That’s like the 100% of the move.”

However, the Olympic champion Nathan Chen who has already calculated the worth of the medal said,It’s only around 800 buck so I don’t know how much it will cover” and the crowd cheered in laughter.

Champion back to the college

Now that the Olympics are over, Nathan Chen can finally go back to college and continue with his studies. He enrolled himself at Yale University back in 2018 and he is a major in Statistics and Data Science at the Connecticut school.

For the Olympics, Nathan took a leave of absence from the college and now will return in the fall.

As exciting as it looks, college life would not be the same for the Olympic champion on his return. He is no longer just a ‘Yalie’ but has become an international sensation after the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.
