Even after retiring years ago, Lindsey Vonn‘s dalliance with the World Cup championships in Alpine ski racing doesn’t get old. The 39-year-old legend already holds 4 such titles in many appearances. These appearances gave her multiple injuries, albeit giving a recognition that is second to none. Lindsey Vonn keeps those memories to her close as well, no matter in what form they came. Recently, the former Olympic champion shared one such memory that witnessed her not with the usual skiing gear.

Moreover, the memory appeared with a somber tone, as Lindsey Vonn couldn’t make it to the event this time. But in her usual mood, the American legend grieved but didn’t wallow to usurp the ultimate charm.

Lindsey Vonn remembers the Kitzbuhel World Cup Downhill favorably

January 19 marked the start day of the Kitzbuhel World Cup Downhill on the Streif with high-octane competition and a lot more expectations. The expectation also brewed at the event as last year, Lindsey Vonn had touched down to motivate others. However, this time, Vonn could only mark her attendance at the event by posting an emotional rollercoaster on IG. The concerned IG post showcased a fair narration of the fangirl Lindsey Vonn. She had enjoyed the last occasion in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the body builder-turned Hollywood star turned politician. So the caption sang the paean conceding, “Missing Kitzbühel this year…but these memories will stay with me forever… from cheering on my (US) teammates with my family, to hanging with @schwarzenegger…”. But with that, the Minnesota native added, “it’s one of the greatest ski races in the world!!! Wishing all the competitors lots of luck!” Definitely, the urge of the Streif filled in the moments when the Americans hoisted their performance flag high.

Last year, it was Jared Goldberg, the American Alpine Ski racer, registering his timing as the fastest North American in the title. However, this time, he missed the occasion. But Bryce Bennett came to the fore to save the glory for the American camp. However, for Lindsey, the stiff glissade in Hahnenkamm was like a stroll in the park last year.

The fairy run in the night

In the aforementioned IG post, Lindsey Vonn also assessed her previous account in the place where she had dabbled in night skiing. Apparently, the Streif in Hahnenkamm brings double whammies in serving the ultimate danger in the route and barring women from contesting on the occasion. The former world champion had defied both last winter. She took her skiing blades to try the glissade in the dead of night last time. Eventually, Lindsey Vonn completed the run successfully.
