A DNF in an alpine skiing race at the World Cup is a nightmare no athlete wants to encounter even in their dizziest daydreams. At the ongoing Audi FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup 2023/24, Mikaela Shiffrin has tasted unequalled triumph. But her boyfriend Aleksander Kilde, though having started strong, faced some setbacks going forward. Especially after the DNF in downhill, he was devastated. But his recent win feels like a cool breeze.

In Bormio, Italy, at men’s Super – G event, the top contenders locked horns in the fine slopes. Among them, the Swiss skier Marco Odermatt, the speed discipline specialist, stood atop with his Super – G title. On December 29, when the nail-biting race concluded, Aleksander Kilde also secured a podium just 1.31 seconds behind Odermatt. But more than Kilde himself, his closest one looks content, and she is all praises for her beloved sultan.

Aleksander Kilde took to his X account to write, “Phew.not going to lie, that super-G result felt like a relief after the downhill!! Congrats to Marco Odermatt and Raphael Haaser! Now, for some time with the queen @MikaelaShiffrin finally!” Even in the Bormio Downhill event, when Kilde met with a stumble, the 26-year-old finished with a silver around his neck. So naturally, the former saying Marco, you’re going to be hard to beat this year, buddy” came naturally to him. Moreover, the Norwegian skier also praised the Austrian Raphael Haaser for his success. But the re-share of Shiffrin with the caption “Congrats, King!!” made more headlines after her boyfriend’s mention and was the cherry on top of the already delectable cake.

On the other side of the world, Mikaela Shiffrin clinched her 93rd World Cup victory in a slalom event. It was her second win on the same slopes, the first being the giant slalom crystal globe. It’s no wonder that the 28-year-old is on top of her game. But she’s finally heaving a sigh of relief as her boyfriend ushered in his kingship. But his recent DNF ended as a valuable lesson for him.

With a passion for sports and an active lifestyle, I delved into the world of journalism and here I am creating insights on various avenues of the sporting realm. In my school years, I could often be found loitering about with a throw ball in hand or maybe engaging in a tough bout. My active participation in both traditional sports and hiking escapades has considerably shaped my mind and its thoughts.
