Despite the abrupt retirement earlier this year before the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023/24, the 23-year-old still holds skiing memories close to his heart.

Lucas has a phenomenal skiing talent. He made his World Cup debut just at the age of 18 and reigned the podium in his 5-year career. A slalom specialist, the Norwegian announced his retirement this year, shocking fans across the globe. Still in love with this exhilarating sport, he unveiled one of his track memoirs in the latest update.

Lucas Pinheiro unveils track memoir
Lucas Braathen took to Instagram to unveil a track memoir for his fans, putting it on sale as well. “Pinheiro Neckie. Back on track. Show your true colors.”, the 23-year-old announced. He posted a picture of himself as well, wearing a white colored warm neckie with Norwegian colors. He also shared the link to his online shop, where fans can buy the memoir.

Lucas debuted at the FIS Alpine Ski World during the 2018/19 winter season, finishing 26th. However, soon after, a series of victories followed him. He won his first World Cup race in October 2020 at the Giant Slalom in Sölden, marking his maiden World Cup podium as well. Before he shockingly announced retirement this year, the Norwegian had racked up five Alpine Ski World Cup victories, finishing on the podium an astounding 12 times.

A day before the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023/24 was to kick off in October, Lucas shocked the skiing world with an abrupt retirement. He made the surprise announcement on his social media handles and later confirmed during a press conference. “I’m done. For the first time in my career, I feel free”, Lucas explained.

The 23-year-old certainly looked dejected with something. Earlier, he had had some disagreements with the Norwegian Ski Federation over a marketing campaign of ski clothes manufacturer J. Lindeberg. However, there is no surety whether it was the reason behind his early retirement or not. He will be missed in the skiing circuits, especially the World Cups.
