She holds the record for the most World Cup wins ever by any male or female skier and aims to further bolster that record. After a rather unprecedented win, the youngest slalom champion is ecstatic beyond belief to share a head turning update for her fans.

Now, the 28-year-old is chasing her century of the ensuing and upcoming World Cup wins. After clinching her 89th victory recently at the AUDI FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, the American star is aiming for her 90th at the newly scheduled event. In a recent Instagram update, Shiffrin shared a countdown for the same, amid great pomp and circumstance.

Mikaela Shiffrin aims for 90th World Cup victory

Ever since her debut, Mikaela Shiffrin has been phenomenal. She is the undisputed queen of alpine skiing, having won everything there is to. Already with the highest World Cup wins, the two-time Olympic Gold medalist is aiming for her 90th win at the domestic AUDI FIS Alpine World Cups. Shiffrin shared an update on her Instagram story, expressing her desire to win the domestics with full fervour. She shared a reel of the US Ski Team, who released the countdown for the event. The short video clip, in which Shiffrin was also tagged, consisted of several moments from the recently concluded Slalom event in Levi.

The domestic Alpine World Cups will commence on November 25, as the reel announced the 5-days countdown. It will begin with the all-encompassing Stifel Killington Cup, scheduled on November 25-26, 2023. Shiffrin is excited about the event as she continues her pursuit with a newer strategy, sunnier optimism and resilience to come out on top.

With each passing year, it is getting harder to keep track of Mikaela Shiffrin?s triumphs. However, her recent one in Levi was a hard-earned one. She initially got injured just before the event, and nearly recovered on time. Her knee bruise probably hampered her performance a bit, suffering disappointment on the first day as Slovakian Petra Vlhova topped the charts.

Petra Vlhova suffered an unlucky fall during the slalom run, and Shiffrin just needed an entryway. She took advantage of that, nearing the 100-win mark as her mother cheered along with the world.
