The video showcased a brief clip of the skiing sensation’s interview after she stepped down from the podium. The interviewer asked her, “Tell me what it means, because your mum is an Olympic medalist as well, have you spoken to your mum?” Responding to this, Romy revealed how happy she was and she had already informed her mother about her win.
She said, “Yeah I did like two minutes after I crossed the finish line I called her and she was like I’m so happy, I’m so proud and so nice and I’m so thankful that she always supports me and she still does and since I’m a little child and without her, I wouldn’t be here, so yeah I’m so thankful for that.” The phone call pushed the proud world champ mom to the brink of tears. In fact, the senior skiing champ couldn’t contain herself and even woke up Romy’s brother to deliver the good news.

Romy Ertl didn’t feel very confident about her skiing performance in the beginning. She reported that she had made several mistakes in her attempt, and thought she didn’t stand much chance of even landing a top 10 rank. However, now that she has won the bronze, the Youth Olympian will look forward to achieving greater heights and surpassing her own mom someday.
