US alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has been enjoying several snowy ski sessions with a variety of people lately. The Olympic gold medalist is also actively sending out messages to big celebs like Kim Kardashian for skiing tips and lessons. However, her latest escapade saw her enjoying the company of an unexpected and special friend.

Lindsey Vonn recently added a new social media post and wished a happy birthday to her close friend Chelsea Handler. While Vonn was cheering for the special day of the comedian, something completely different was amusing her. In fact, the special friend drew more attention from Vonn than the birthday girl.

The Instagram post added by Lindsey Vonn carried the caption, “Happy birthday Chels!! So happy I got to ski a few runs with you ❤️ and I love your new rescue Doug… reminds me of my boy Bear that I lost.” Lindsey Vonn also shared several pictures on her post. But, while the birthday girl shared the frame with Vonn in just the first image, Doug was on the remaining four. Apparently, Bear, whom Vonn lost in January 2022, also had the same soft black fur. Moreover, he also carried the same adorable looks.

Hence, it must have been very great for Lindsey Vonn to refresh her memories connected to her dear departed. Vonn is a bona fide dog mom and used to take good care of her critters. Interestingly, she also adopted more pups in her family alongside Bear to keep her company. In fact, while Bear is gone, she still has three furballs to share a home with.

Lucy is the newest member of the Vonn family, whom Vonn adopted from an animal shelter in Italy in 2016. Sharing their ravishing glory on social media, the trio, which formerly included Bear as well, feature on their own Instagram page.

Bearing the handle name ‘vonndogs’, they have become very popular on their own. Speaking to Dwyane Wade on his podcast recently, Lindsey Vonn revealed that she is very fond of her dogs. She also noted that she flies via a private plane every time she has to travel with them. The Olympian said that she is extra cautious about their health since they are aging. Thus, catching a moment with Doug must have had an extra sweet effect on the skiing legend. Do you also share such love with your non-human companions?
