“Had a Stroke When She Gave Birth”: Lindsey Vonn Once Opened Up on Mother’s Heartbreaking Struggle During Her Birth

One could only imagine the avalanche of emotions Lindsey Vonn might be going through right now. Her mother, Lindy Anne Lund, was the strongest woman Lindsey had ever known right from the moment she was born. Although she has been tough in dealing with her ALS treatment for a year, losing her would have had a heavy toll on her heart.

The Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn shared the information about her mother’s demise through an Instagram post, reminiscing every memory she ever had with her. In a way, it was the last goodbye from the skier to her mother, recounting a million ways she filled her life with happiness and joy.

Previously, in an interview, the skiing icon revealed, “My mom’s really tough. On the other hand, Lindsey’s mother recalled the same incident differently. Narrating her side of the story, Lindy said, “I went to the emergency room, and they just took her by cesarean, and I don’t remember anything for seven weeks.”

Lindy fought with ALS for a year

Lindsey’s mother fought with a debilitating ALS disease for exactly a year after she was diagnosed. However, the skiing legend was by her side throughout the medical process. She even urged her fans and friends to pray for her mother’s recovery in one of her previous Instagram posts.

In her final tribute to her mother, Lindsey wrote, “She was a shining light that will never fade and I will forever be inspired by her.” Perhaps her teaching would continue to guide the skier in the near and far future ahead.
