Mikaela Shiffrin’s Partner’s Mother Pens Emotional Note Amid Son’s Recovery Journey

One of the greatest alpine skiers of all time,  Mikaela Shiffrin, managed to avoid rupturing her ACL following an accident during the women’s downhill race in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Amidst injury challenges, Shiffrin’s Boyfriend, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, a Norwegian alpine ski racer, also appears to be doing well. He also experienced a “gut-wrenching fall” during the World Cup in Wengen on January 14. Since then, he has been keeping updated his fans on his injury recovery progress. Recently his mother added to that.

The Norwegian skier’s mother Kristina Aamodt Kilde took a moment to share an emotional update on her son’s injury recovery progress. Just days after attributing Mikaela Shiffrin’s unwavering support throughout this challenging time, Aleksander’s mom also thanked well-wishers on Instagram.

Kristina Aamodt Kilde took to her official IG handle @kristinaamodtkilde to share an update on Norwegian’s health.  “7 weeks ago, our world turned upside down. The crash in Wengen left us terrified, unsure of what the future held for Aleksander. The fear and uncertainty were overwhelming, but through it all, we clung to hope. Today, we’re amazed by Aleksander’s progress. From lying in bed or sitting in a wheelchair, he now sees a glimmer of hope for a return to be able to live the life that he loves,” she mentioned in the post.


Apart from that, Aleksander’s mom also applauded his willpower, staunchness, and perseverance as he had during the tough days of his life. “It’s a journey, (because there are still some uncertainties) filled with ups and downs, but his determination, strength, and positivity continue to inspire and impress us every day. We love you @akilde ❤️,” She further mentioned in her post.

In addition to that, Kristina Kilde took a moment to express her gratitude to the well-wishers who had stood by when the Alpine skier started to heal from his terrifying tragedy. Further caption reads “🫶🏻Thank you for cheering on Aleksander’s journey as he continues to defy the odds and chase his dreams. Thank you all for your unwavering support during this challenging time.”

Aleksander Kilde faced a horrifying accident during the Lauberhorn races in Wengen, Kilde underwent many excruciating surgeries and inexplicable panic attacks.  Despite the enormous terror and uncertainty, Aleksander Kilde is battling against this brutal injury. Throughout this difficult moment, Mikaela Shiffrin was there to look after him.

As Aleksander previously penned a note after experiencing this major setback “I’m here (and being taken care of by the one and only),” addressing Mikaela. Shiffrin also earned praise from her  Partner’s Mother.

On January 30, when Aleksander was making “baby steps” toward his recovery from the accident, his mother Kristina Aamodt Kilde expressed her special gratitude to two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Mikaela for massive support during the hardest time, she mentioned  “A very special thank to @mikaelashiffrin for all your support behind the scenes, securing the quality and making sure that Aleksander was treated by the best.” With all that support, we wish Aleksander a quick recovery ahead.
