With several national and international titles, Lindsey Vonn established her dominance in alpine skiing. The way to success is never free from difficulties. Nevertheless, the athlete faced and overcame each of those and became one of the greatest skiers of all time. Given her stature and popularity, her personal life and especially her dating history have always been under public purview. 

Vonn’s relationship with her most recent ex-partner, P. K. Subban, did not have a fairytale ending. Notably, the NHL defenseman is popular for his expertise in ice hockey. However, to everyone’s surprise, the 33-year-old announced his retirement a few hours ago.

P. K. Subban started inclining towards the sport from a very young age. He was only three when he built an interest in ice hockey. Alongside winning hearts, the superstar also won the Norris Trophy in 2013. His extraordinary performances made him NHL’s top defenseman too. 

But just a while ago, Subban broke the news of his retirement on Instagram. In a statement, he thanked his family, friends, fans, and everyone who supported him throughout his NHL career. Besides that, he left a hint of upcoming new opportunities in his life.

“I never looked at myself or ever felt I was ‘just a hockey player,’” the Olympic champion wrote. “I always looked at myself as a person who happened to play hockey.”

Subban never limited his life to hockey and is looking forward to the good times that are ahead of him. He added, “I look forward to the road ahead, and the many exciting opportunities to come. I’m excited to share what those are with you all when the time comes!”

In 2014, Subban bagged the Olympic gold medal with Team Canada. But that is just the tip of the iceberg; the list of his achievements is never-ending, given his mastery of ice hockey.

Lindsey Vonn and P. K. Subban exchanged rings only after a year of dating. In 2020, the skier appeared for an interview where she spilled the beans on her relationship and more. In addition, she spoke about what she has learned about herself from relationships. 

“I have learned what I need as a person,” said the three-time Olympic gold medalist. “What kind of support I need because I have a tendency to be very self-sufficient. I normally don’t like to take help from anybody.”
