Mikaela Shiffrin teams up with Adidas for inspirational message

Adidas organized a PR shoot for their brand Terrex, which offers weather-resistant shoes. Who better to promote these shoes than Alpine skiing legend Mikaela Shiffrin? The brand posted a small teaser on Instagram from the full interview with Mikaela Shiffrin, captioned, “In her own right. This is Mikaela Shiffrin Unfiltered.? Episode one of the three-part series is out 24 November on YouTube.?” Adidas had a special purpose in mind when making this video. They wanted to make mental health care accessible and destigmatize it. The two-time Olympic gold medalist was the perfect representative for this mission and said, ?WE?RE STARTING TO CREATE A NORM THAT MAKES IT OKAY TO BE VULNERABLE. PEOPLE WILL LEARN TO KNOW THAT, LIKE, THE HUMAN FACTOR, THE HUMAN ELEMENT OF SPORTS COMES WITH THE ENTERTAINMENT SIDE OF IT?.

She termed this a ?package deal? where people must learn to accept that vulnerabilities follow athletic success. Once this mental barrier is demolished, athletes will begin to embrace both wins and losses with equal mental fortitude. With this perspective shift, Mikaela Shiffrin encourages athletes to transition from external pressures to embrace their personal and internal journeys.

During the podcast appearance with Lewis Howes, Shiffrin said, ?Knowing that the outcome could be completely terrible, you still need to go down that road and try, and that is the only confidence I want to have ? the confidence to try!? The 28-year-old skiing icon taught the sporting facility to stop obsessing over victories. Instead, they must learn to trust the journey and know that success does not define their worth.
