As Shiffrin began to ski in Are, she was later able to achieve a 1.04-second lead over Federica Brignone. Later, Brignone gained speed and was just 0.57 seconds behind Shiffrin.

However, fate was in Shiffrin’s favor. While skiing downhill, Shiffrin made no mistake and was able to maintain a narrow lead over Brignone and other competitors, winning the giant slalom race by a margin of 0.64 seconds.

Later, the alpine skiing legend reacted to her victory as she equalled Ingemar’s record in a recent Instagram post. She stated, “It is the greatest honor of my career to be mentioned in the same sentence as Ingemar Steinmark Incomprehensible and truly unforgettable.”
