Lindsey Vonn is among the greatest alpine skiers of all time. With 82 World Cup wins, she held the women’s record for most world cup wins before Mikaela Shiffrin broke her record in January 2023. Vonn has also won three Olympic medals and inspired countless women worldwide to take up the sport. Outside of sports, Vonn is an inspiring role model for women and supports the education of underprivileged girls through her charity foundation. However, even the Olympic legend sometimes requires inspiration.

Recently the alpine skier and a role model to many shared who her role model is. After the NBA All-Star game, Vonn and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai shared photos they had taken together. In one of her Instagram stories, Vonn wrote that Yousafzai was her inspiration. Earlier today, the Olympian penned another heartfelt note for the 25-year-old.

She wrote that nearly everyone has heard of the 25-year-old’s story by now. “Her story is both inspiring and a reminder of the work that remains to be done in the world. She has been an incredible advocate for human rights, especially the education of women and children,” Vonn stated in her caption. The alpine skiing legend also wrote, like Yousafzai, she tries to be a great role model and “have a positive impact.”
