US Skiing Legend Lindsey Vonn Extends Her Congratulations as Another Olympic Champ Joins Her in Retirement Club

Former American alpine skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn hasn’t really hung up her boots. Despite officially retiring from the sport in February 2019, the Olympic gold medalist constantly takes on the snowy slopes again and again. Interestingly, however, she will now have another ski legend joining her in retirement.
Ragnhild Mowinckel, a prominent Norwegian alpine skier, has declared that she will retire after the current ski season. The two-time Olympian noted that she had decided to quit before bagging her recent World Cup victory in January. Welcoming her to her post-retirement shenanigans, Lindsey Vonn has extended her warm wishes to the 31-year-old.

Lindsey Vonn added a new story to her Instagram, captioned, “Congrats on an amazing career Mow!!! It was an honor to share the Olympic podium with you ❤️. Wish you all the best in next chapter 💪🏻.” Vonn and Mowinckel had a heated battle at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Despite being the skier with the highest number of World Cup wins at the time, Lindsey Vonn lost to Ragnhild Mowinckel. The Norwegian outclassed the US champ by just 0.09 seconds, handing her the bronze and taking the silver for herself. However, Vonn enjoyed the thrill of the event and also shared the podium picture in her story.

Thus, while Ragnhild Mowinckel may not have won the gold medal, she has the badge of besting an Olympic gold medalist. Now that Lindsey Vonn has another retired Olympian by her side, she will have more fun on her sporting escapades. While Lindsey Vonn has always been a social media butterfly, she is lately helping celebs with skiing lessons. The 39-year-old had recently reached out to Kim Kardashian and offered to help her with some tips via a comment on the TV star’s Instagram post. Moreover, she also gave supervised lessons to Ashley Graham.

The American model received direct tutelage from Lindsey Vonn where she learned and grasped the basics of skiing. Notably, the Olympic gold medalist was very protective of her new student and almost mothered her with her constant attention and worry.
