The 2023-24 Audi FIS Ski World Cup hasn’t been exactly what the fans would’ve wanted it to be. A multitude of cancellations in the men’s course have disappointed skiers and fans of alpine skiing alike. Amidst all the anticipation, Olympian Mikaela Shiffrin took a stumble at the women’s Great Slalom in Levi, as Slovakian Petra Vlhova inched past. However, Shiffrin seems to be in a jocund mood as she works hard to get back on her throne.

While doing some recovery endurance enhancement training, Shiffrin took the time to satiate the fans’ curiosities. In a recently shared post on Instagram, Shiffrin can be seen focused on being in her peak shape. However, she also seems to be in a good mood and not afraid to speak her mind as she answers pressing questions.

In her latest Insta post, Shiffrin is seen taking on a round of rapid-fire questions directed at her. The world’s most celebrated alpine skier starts with the disclaimer, “Rapid fires are never easy for me“. Unsurprisingly, the first question had to be about her favorite choice for pasta, given the Olympian’s publicly confessed love for the dish. “Penne“, Shiffrin didn’t hesitate to belt out her favorite type of pasta. At the next question (Tennis or soccer?), Shiffrin revealed that she does enjoy the former more.

The next question came with a sneer (Futball or football?). The skiing icon was pretty sure of her choice as she seemed to utter the word “Football” with an American fondness for the game. Interestingly, the next question came in similar veins as Shiffrin was asked “Adidas or Adidas?”, with one of the options making a nod to the German part of the apparel giants. After much deliberation, Shiffrin had to choose the authentic way of saying the name.

One take at a time

Growing up, I didn’t really have an interest in Olympic sports, but it was always something intriguing. As I found the means and the opportunity to explore its world, I found sports like volleyball, and track & field to be something that had tons to offer instead of just scoring through kills and sprinting toward the finish line. Whether it is Nebraska Huskers dominating the court or Noah Lyles maintaining his winning spree on the tracks, these two sports never fail to serve adrenaline rush to their spectators.
