Lindsey Vonn, the former Olympian alpine skier, has a multifaceted personality. As an athlete, she made certain that there was never a dull time in her career. Just like an eclipse brings darkness to the planet, losing her mother has brought gloom—darkness that no one can do anything about.
Lindy Lund, Lindsey’s mother, died recently after a year-long struggle with ALS. Lindsey is fighting a helpless battle in the passing away of her mother, who has been critical in shaping her life. In a recent update on her Instagram stories, she expressed something that make us feel helpless too.

A hard mountain to climb
Lindsey makes a painful revelation on her Instagram story in light of her emotional anguish. The message reads, “I wish I could call my Mom,” followed by a sad face and broken heart. It’s hard to realize she no longer exists, and it’s much more heartbreaking that something as simple as calling her is no longer feasible.

Following her mother’s death, love, support, and condolences flooded in from all around the world. However, the sad reality is that no amount of reassuring words or sympathy can take away even a millionth of the agony of losing a loved one. Vonn has shown amazing courage in convincing her of the loss, but it is not an easy task.

Lindsey Vonn shares about family text chat

The historical alpine skiing racer’s biography, Rise: My Story, has several mentions of her mother. She shared many incidents. Knowing them, one cannot but sympathize with Lindsey as she mourns the loss of her mother.
Lindsey wrote about a family text chat they have with her mom and all of her siblings. Her mom wrote little poems every day, constantly sending around positive affirmations. Sometimes, just as it goes in any group text chat, Lindsey would say, “Okay, that’s enough,” but she confessed that it was awesome that she did that. She continued that her mother always lifted their spirits and she chose to be happy every day.
