“Would Have Been Your 69th”: Emotional Mikaela Shiffrin Remembers Her Late Father on His Birthday

The pain of losing a parent can’t be described in words, and the star alpine skier, Mikaela Shiffrin, feels nothing different. The American skiing superstar lost his father, Jeff Shiffrin, two years back in 2020. March 8th is the birth date of her father. The 5x World Champion took to social media and remembered her father. 

Jeff Shiffrin’s passing away left the family devastated and the entire skiing community was saddened by his loss. The recent Instagram picture has given an emotional moment to the entire community.

In her emotional Instagram post, Mikaela shared a childhood picture of her. The cute kid was seen sitting in his father’s lap with a curious expression on her face. The old photo from the vault would have definitely taken her down memory lane to the golden days. She wrote a short yet heartfelt message to honor his memory. “Would have been your 69th. Happy birthday, Dad. Iym”, Shiffrin wrote in the caption. 

Jeff Shiffrin was a respected physician and an accomplished Master ski racer. However, the man was perhaps best known for his unwavering support of his daughter’s skiing career. Jeff was a constant face at her races. His support and encouragement played a crucial part in Mikaela’s success.

However, the skier considers it a tribute to the enduring legacy of her father’s love and support.
