The life of Lindsey Vonn has been similar to all of her ski runs. It has been exhilarating the same way most of her races were. Every jump can be interpreted to signify a crucial win. Every twist and turn implies the times when Lindsey got injured and had to give up. The only difference is when she reached the bottom of the hill, she stood atop the competition she faced. With 82 race wins, Vonn holds the record for the most wins in the world cup circuit.

While Vonn enjoyed one of the most decorated alpine skiing careers of all time, she also had to handle an equal no. of setbacks. The famed skier once tweeted about the same as she addressed the adversities she faced. But her fans were quick to dismiss the negative vibes around her as they showered her with supportive replies.

Is Lindsey Vonn the She-Hulk?

Not only did 2019 mark the end of the ‘teen years,’ but it also marked the end of one of the most glorious alpine skiing careers of all time. Citing her injuries, America’s Lindsey Vonn announced her retirement from the sport. The then 34-year-old was stoked to step away from the competitive side of the sport after her right knee sustained permanent damage.

In an emotional yet indicating equal fighting spirit, Vonn once tweeted about the obstacles she had to overcome and what she felt like when doing so. Vonn wrote, “If adversity makes you stronger, I think I’m the Hulk at this point.” Vonn’s fans were quick to gather around to show their support for the Minnesota skiing belle.

One fan wrote, “The Hulk? You’d kick the Hulk’s ass!”

Vonn’s life post-retirement

Much like her life as an active competitor, Vonn had to face various obstacles in her post-retirement life. In her memoir called ‘Rise: My Story,’ Lindsey shared the account of her experience while processing life immediately after retiring.

Lindsey wrote she heard a lot of advice from various people. From statements like enjoy doing nothing as it was the best to keep on grinding, she heard it all. It made Vonn realize no one had the correct answer for her. “Over that first year in retirement, I traveled through all the stages of grief—denial, pain, anger, bargaining, depression, reconstruction, acceptance.” But being the fighter that she is, Lindsey found her footing and rose back up like a champion.

Apart from publishing her memoir, Vonn also became a businesswoman. She became an advisor to venture capital funds such as Helium-3 and BroadLight Capital. Lindsey also became a part owner of YNIQ. She partnered with HEAD to design a ski clothing line. Lindsey also joined her long-time friend Dwayne Johnson to work on a special apparel line for Project Rock.
