As the world inches closer to the Paris Olympics 2023, the U.S. sporting realm is reassessing its contention. Throughout the NFL zeitgeist in 2023, several sports have converged on the football field for the fan’s support. Simone Biles is the perfect poster child for this convergence of Olympic greatness and NFL entertainment. However, Jonathan Owens‘ ludicrous comments have put her in damage-control mode. Interestingly, it was precisely a month ago when Simone Biles turned up in Wisconsin to support the Packers.

Simone Biles’ Sunday Night Football appearance during the Chiefs versus Packers game seemed to steal the thunder of the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift romance. A similar magnitude of fame and applause was at the receiving end of all Olympic hopefuls during their respective appearances.

The allure of the weighty international recognition in Paris drew the patriots and fans alike to overlook their American football legends and instead focus on the athletic attainments of these American heroes. Throughout 2023, several Olympic legends took center stage at the football field while the crowds showered them with love. NBC Olympics & Paralympics captured these dispersed moments in an edited video for the X platform. Captioned, “Team USA brought the #ParisOlympics and #ParisParalympics hype to Sunday Night Football in 2023,” the video showcased the electrifying response from the crowds when these Olympians stepped onto the field. Starting with Simone Biles, the frame quickly changed to Noah Lyles showing off his hardware from the World Athletic Championships.

In the next frame, para cyclist Oksana Masters glowed amidst the cheers from the public. Next, soccer star Lynn Williams joined Paralympian and wheelchair basketball legend Steve Serio for the fans’ approbation. Katie Grimes (Swimming), Gerek Meinhardt and Lee Kiefer (Fencing), Jorge Sanchez and Ryan Neiswender (Wheelchair Basketball), Victor Montalvo (Breaking), Casey Kaufhold (Archery),  Ezra Frech (Para Track and Field), Shilese Jones (Gymnastics), Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng (Beach Volleyball), Gabby Thomas and Anna Hall (Track and Field) were among the others who received similar recognitions from the enthusiastic crowds at different times. In a deja vu moment, another all-around gymnastics champion appeared for a Packers game.
