As wrestlers etched their names in the annals of history, they added a bronze and historic gold medal to the tally of medals achieved by the USA.

USA’s beach wrestling prodigy is again making headlines. Soon after adding a historic gold to the collection of USA’s beach wrestling medals, this wrestling sensation is writing historic records again. She was recently awarded as the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week in the Beach World Series held in Turkey.

Meet the Athlete of the Week 

USA’s prominent wrestling Prodigy, also known as Eliana Bommarito, was recently named the Athlete of the Week. Given by USA Wrestling, As per the post on Instagram shared by USA Wrestling, was captioned as “Eliana Bommarito has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week after winning the Beach World Series Final and finishing atop the Beach World Series rankings! She is the first American to be declared a Senior Beach World Series champion USA”

She clinched the gold by emerging victorious in the five consecutive matches. When Bommarito stepped into the arena, the spectators watched her every move in anticipation of the next. In the showdown, she pinned her opponent, Liudmyla Pavlovets Tychna of Ukraine, with a remarkable score of 3-2.

Therefore, by winning the championship title, she became the USA’s first Senior Beach World champion. Consecutively, she accomplished this title by standing atop the podium with an impressive score of 55,800 secured during the series. Finishing at the second rank was Pavlovets Tychna who was only 1300 points away from first rank whereas Catalina Axente stood third, scoring 49000 points

How is she the first in the History of American Beach Wrestling?

This is the beginning of Eliana Bommarito’s accomplishments this year. She secured fourth rank at the Beach World Series held in Buenos Aires this year. Additionally, she also grabbed the title of US Senior Beach National Championship as well as the NJCAA National Championship along with her recent golds in the Beach World Series.

The USA’s Beach Wrestlers has a tally of 22 UWW Senior Beach medals since 2007. And Bommarito added a first gold medal in the tally of medals. In the history of beach wrestling, another gold was only added by reigning senior world champion Amit Elor at 50 Kg in the 2019 U17 Beach World Championships.

Overall, Bommarito is among the exceptionally gifted wrestlers who pave their way to becoming champions, defeating each opponent along the way.
