Powerlifting legend, Jen Thompson holds the record for lifting weights as heavy as 319.7 lbs. Having achieved several titles in prestigious powerlifting championships, Thompson continues to work on herself. However, a few days ago, Thompson was angered by rumors indicating her using “fake plates” in gyms. To shut down rumors, the 49-year-old performed a 325-lb raw bench press in her recent Instagram post.

Jen Thompson is considered one of the strongest women in the world. In 2019, the 11-time I.P.F. World Powerlifting Champion was inducted into the IPF Hall of Fame. Moreover, lifting – 314 lbs in the 63kg IPF World Record Bench Press and – 317.5 lb in the 63kg IPF Bench Press Only World Record Bench Press – are some of her proud records.

Here’s how Jen Thompson gave it back to the rumors

As per her recent Instagram post, Thompson swore to prove her haters wrong; “I’m just going to beat all the ‘fake plates’”. With great strength, the powerlifter performed a 325 lb raw bench press on her seat. Moreover, to shut down the rumors, she took each of those plates and connected it to a measuring device that rightly measured it to 325 lb.

Along with her post, Thompson further added in her caption;

“@thestrengthco plates are not only badass looking, but the most accurate plates we have ever had in the gym. They have a slightly smaller hole diameter for a tighter fit on the bar. The patriotic bar needs no explanation and the clips are the best I have ever used.”

Nevertheless, since she is preparing for the upcoming powerlifting championship, she also added;  

One more single training day to go before @usapowerlifting @arnoldsports What should I go for ???”

Jen Thompson is gearing up dedicatedly for the upcoming USA powerlifting championship. A few weeks back, she reached a milestone by improving her squat game.

Thompson is leaving no stone unturned for the upcoming championships. Working dedicatedly on herself, she recently shared her video of squat lifting. She compared it to her performance last year in October, where she struggled to lift 352 lbs in a championship, remarking it as ‘pretty ugly”.

After a year, the powerlifter has improved in squat lifting, being able to easily perform a 350 lb Double. The will to keep improving is so dear to Thompson that she could even perform a tough deadlift while being affected by a cold. In one of her posts, she shared that the competition pressure and the cold intensely worked on improving her deadlift.
