Amid selection processes for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024, set to commence on July 26, 2024, the countdown stands at 238 days and several hours remaining. But the hullabaloo around the game is not showing any peace momentarily. Recently, the pole fiasco in the Teahupo’o regarding the surfing championship in the Paris Olympics 2024 upped the ante. If that wasn’t sufficient, the latest decision of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee would work as an intensifier.

On Thursday, the organizing committee started selling more than 4 lakh tickets for the “biggest show on earth”. However, when the game is just months away, the organizing committee’s effort has raised several eyebrows.

As per the announcement, on November 30, the Paris Olympics 2024 hosting committee started selling tickets for the last time. On this occasion, they included all season tickets, i.e., the sold-out tickets and the new ones for both the Olympics and Paralympics, as reported by Travel and Leisure. In their latest statement, the organizers claimed, “All sports will be back on sale, for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to experience up close the performances of the greatest athletes in the world, the iconic moments of the Games – including all the finals,”. On their IG handle also, the Paris Olympics 2024 committee released the news, with the caption, “New tickets on sale today at 10 a.m. Paris time. First come, first served. All sports and all sessions available on tickets.paris2024.org.”

Eventually, this time, the organizers have imposed rules such as ‘first come, first serve’ or have set conditions such as selling 30 tickets in the highest stretch to a particular account. As per the hosting committee, steps like these might help in stopping unequal distribution of tickets. However, tensions are still mounting.

Among all these, the high prices of hotel rooms and transportation services in Paris contributed to the price rise situation. The transport head of the Paris region, Valerie Pecresse, justified the situation, passing the blame on the high demand for the transport service during the game. Now, after all this, the visitors should make an effective call on buying Olympic tickets.
