A tragic tale of the Equestrian world might make you cry!

The viral video shared by Wild Horse Education exposes a distressing reality for wild horses. It is titled “Baby falls behind & Drops out of Sight,” the footage was posted with the caption, 4 more deaths #wildhorses. 2 more broken legs as 2nd heatwave hits. This roundup is like a war zone. Babies are coming in lame (one killed yesterday) and it looks like some are not coming in at all. 17 dead so far”. With alarming statistics of at least 17 horse deaths: among them, five young foals, four horses that suffered broken necks, and a stallion with a snapped rear leg. Disturbingly, witnesses recount a sad scene where the stallion, attempting to escape on 3 legs, endured a harrowing 35-minute chase by a helicopter & a horseback rider before the difficult decision was made to put down their life.

Among the distressing fatalities are 2 wild horses who met an unfortunate end due to broken rear legs. Additionally, a 20-year-old sorrel mare and a young sorrel foal with a club foot suffered equally heartbreaking fates. Of utmost concern is the dramatic drop in the number of captured foals during the roundup. In contrast to previous percentages of mares arriving with babies ranging from 30% to 40%, the most recent figures paint a bleak picture, with a mere 16% capture rate. The fate of these missing foals, separated from their mothers during the sorting process, and sent to off-limits facilities far from public view, remains a haunting mystery.
