Ever since his debut, Auguste Rodin has been phenomenal in his 2-year career. However, the career of horses is short-lived. The majority of the equines are retired after reaching 3-5 years of age. Auguste Rodin is already 3-years old, however, O’Brien isn’t retiring him yet.

Auguste Rodin to race for another year

A P O’Brien has achieved huge success in a long career spanning over 3-decades. One of the best horse trainers, he has seen a lot of horses come and go. Auguste Rodin is one of his latest trained equines, who recently won the Breeders’ Cup. The 3-year-old cult is nearing the end of his career but seems to have the potential to carry on for one more year according to the Irish man.

O’Brien recently broke the news that shook horse enthusiasts, though in excitement. In an interview with the Racing Post, O’Brien announced that Auguste Rodin would train under him for another year. “The lads have decided to keep Auguste Rodin in training. We’re very much looking forward to having him racing again next year and it’s hugely exciting really”, he announced.

O’Brien further added that Auguste was in great shape after that Brilliant victory at Santa Anita. Although the Irish trainer didn’t confirm his participation in any particular race, Auguste Rodin could be seen back for next year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic. The champion equine has become a fan favorite owing to his huge victories in the past 2-years.

Auguste Rodin’s stellar horse racing career

Trained by legend Aidan O’Brien himself, the 3-year-old cult was destined for greatness. Auguste first rose to fame after clinching the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes last year. The Coolmore-bred horse has won 7 races until now and is prized over $8,000,000. In his debut year, Auguste Rodin triumphed in Futurity Trophy Stakes, Champions Juvenile Stakes (G2), and Maiden in 2022.

Auguste Rodin secured his most significant win on 5th November at Santa Anita Park. Ridden by R L Moore, he came out victorious in the Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) defeating Up To The Mark. Before this $4,000,000 victory, Auguste Rodin won Irish Derby (G1), and Epsom Derby (G1) in 2023. This career graph is truly remarkable, and O’Brien has surely done right to let the horse continue his dominance.
