With Betfair Chase set to start just after a few days, the 40-year-old has been handed the plum spare ride aboard Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up.

Jacob is a 3X Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, his first victory dating back to 2011. The Irish jockey and trainer has over 63 chase victories in his career and is set to add one more as Betfair Chase comes close. In a recent update, it was announced that Jacob would be atop Bravemansgame, however, only if conditions permit.

Daryl Jacob is a champion. He boasts an illustrious career with over 160 victories in his career. The Irish National Hunt Jockey has been riding for trainer Paul Nicholas for more than a decade now and will continue to do so. Nicholas recently announced that Jacob would be riding his Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Bravemansgame in the Betfair Chase.

Nicholas took to Twitter/X to announce that Jacob made a few rides atop Bravemansgame to prepare for Betfair Chase. The highly anticipated Betfair Chase is set to take place at Haydock this Saturday. ?Daryl?s going to ride him, you know. He?s got all the experience in the world. He rides out a little bit here, so he got on great with him this morning?, Nicholas said in an interview with Betfair.

However, Nicholas didn’t fully confirm the 8-year-old’s participation, citing weather permits. ?If it was heavy, he definitely won’t run, but I’m encouraged by the weather forecast. Looks like it’s drying up.? While horse racing enthusiasts hope the weather remains dry, Jacob would be trying to add another Grade 1 to his list of victories.

Only a few have been able to achieve the status Daryl Jacob has as an equestrian jockey. The 40-year-old has been riding horses professionally for more than two decades now and has clinched over 163 major victories, including several high-stakes wins. He has won 3 Cheltenham Gold Cups till now, in 2011, 2014, and 2020.

Jacob?s brilliance isn’t limited to Great Britain. His major wins in Ireland include the Irish Gold Cup, Arkle Novice Chase, and Champion Four Old Year Hurdle. Additionally, he won the Grande Course de Haies d?Auteuii in France in 2017. Jacob is a 3x Betfair Chase winner as well and will look to add fourth to his name this Saturday at Haydock Racing.
