Jennifer Gates has completed her degree in medicine, became a professional equestrian, married fellow equestrian Nayel Nassar, and has most recently become a mother. She achieved all of those milestones in her 27-year-old life. It is fair to assume for Melinda Gates, that while Jenn is no more a little girl, motherly instincts never leave.

No matter how old she gets, Jennifer Gates will always have a caring mother

On the 4th of July, Melinda Gates got quite nostalgic and shared a throwback photo of her carrying her daughter Jennifer Gates on her back. Jennifer Gates was a child on her mother’s back, although her exact age then wasn’t revealed. It was the most joyous time in Melinda Gates’s life, as the broad smile on the then-new mother’s face gave it away.

Melinda Gates wrote in her Instagram post, “I love spending time outside with family and friends on the Fourth of July—especially in one of America’s beautiful parks. (Though, these days I’m not carrying Jenn on my back). How do you enjoy spending the holiday?”

Most recently, Gates showed solidarity with her mother’s initiative for empowering more women into office spaces, especially in the higher-up echelons of politics.

Melinda Gates recently wrote an Op-Ed piece for TIME where she expressed why she believes it’s important for women to have an office space. She even spoke extensively about it in interviews. Her daughter Jennifer Gates was by her side throughout the whole initiative, and she has every reason to be proud of Jennifer Gates.
