The Kentucky Derby is approaching closer and thrilled fans are celebrating to the fullest in Louisville. Betting and predictions of which horse will win have also gained massive momentum. Interestingly, Kentucky Derby Museum’s mini ambassador also predicted the winner of the Kentucky Derby.

Named after Kentucky Derby’s first winner as Mighty Aristides, the 2-year-old horse chose his pick with lightning speed. In a line where the names of all competing horses were written, Aristides trotted over to the horse name he thought could win. A recent post on Kentucky Derby’s official Instagram handle disclosed the name of the horse Aristides predicted to secure victory. So how did Mighty Aristides select the winning horse and which horse did Mighty Aristides choose?

Mighty Aristides hints at who can be the Kentucky Derby Winner

The Instagram clip shared how food was put in various pails which had the names of horses written on them. After this, Mighty Aristides arrived in this stable filled with pails. Aristides quickly went towards three pails. While one pail had the label Forte, the other pail had the name Sun Thunder and the third pail had the name Angel of Empire.  Aristides then ate from the pail which had the name Angel of Empire and a white star, predicting this horse as the winner.

Given training by Brad Cox, this Pennsylvania-bred horse is one of the fan favorites to win the Kentucky Derby. In the upcoming Derby, Angel of Empire will be ridden by Flavien Prat who has recently won the Louisiana Derby.  Many fans supported this prediction given by Aristides and a fan also commented, “Let’s go Angel of Empire!” Mighty Aristides is not the only one whose prediction has excited equestrian fans. Interestingly, a popular expert known for his gift of picking potential winners also made predictions for the upcoming Kentucky Derby.

Popular sports personality selects his pick for the Kentucky Derby

Jody Demling, a popular sports writer for 247 Sports recently predicted Two Phil’s as his best bet, as the horse which has the potential to win the Kentucky Derby. Known for his exceptional performance at Jeff Ruby Steaks, Two Phil’s will be ridden by Jareth Loveberry in the upcoming Kentucky Derby.  Interestingly, he didn’t consider the fan favorite Forte as the winner of the race.

Further, he stated that the chances that Tapit Trice could win are 5-1, and the chances that Angel of Empire could emerge victorious as 8-1. Talking about Flavien Prat, who will ride Angel of Empire, he stated, “There’s a lot to like about the Arkansas Derby winner, but he will need a good pace to run at and he will also need to navigate through some traffic. He’s athletic enough to get the job done.”
