Historical UNESCO World Heritage Site to host equestrian events

The Chateau de Versailles will host 6 equestrian events at the Paris Olympics 2024, and also at the Para Olympics as well. The palace was initially built as a lodge for hunting, and later it served as the home to the prestigious court of Louis XIV in the 17th century. As it became a symbol of French royalty, the palace was turned into a national museum in the 19th century and was later recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

The historical site builds a temporary outdoor flanked area with several stands and can host from 15,000 to 40,000 people depending on the type of event. Several other temporary structures will also be built depending on the requirements for the events. The outdoor arena will host Grand Prix Dressage tests and show jumping while it will stage the same two events during the Paralympics as well.
